Fire-Fighting Training for Remote Schools 26 June 2025  09/07/2025 (ดู:128)



 

Members of our club recently identified the need for fire extinguishers while conducting our service projects at two remote schools in the mountainous region west of Hua Hin. Located deep in the jungle over an hour’s drive west of the city center, Ban Nern Phayom School in Bueng Nakhon, Hua Hin district and Ban Wang Pla School in Pran Buri district are small schools for grades 1 to 6, with 51 kids and 30 kids respectively.

Our project provided suitable fire extinguishers for both schools and in addition to training on fire prevention, four teachers with 20 students ages 10 to 12 years were trained to extinguish fires by officials of the Khao Chao Sub-district Administration in Pran Buri on 26 June. The new carbon dioxide and ABC-type fire extinguishers were delivered to the schools on 4 July.

Even though the schools and villages in this area are not very far from Hua Hin city, they rely on solar power and diesel generators for electricity since there is no electricity grid in the area
